Wow, what a day! So, we’re not supposed to have favourites…. but Olivia & Tom’s Cliff House Wedding Photography was pretty special and we feel genuinely fortunate to have been there to document it. We’ve worked at Cliff House a couple of times now, it’s a much loved community venue at the very heart of life in Salcombe and is a treasured part of the community for many Salcombe families. The idyllic waterside location provides a perfect setting for weddings in one of the most unique venues in Devon. The views are stunning!
From our initial Skype consultation with Olivia and Tom we knew we were going to get on incredibly well, Tom is super laid back, and Olivia is kind natured and thoughtful, we knew their day would echo those traits, which it did and so much more. When Tom and Olivia booked us to document their Cliff House Wedding, we were super excited and we looked forward to it immensely. Olivia was such a beautiful, happy and expressive bride, even when en-route to the church it was raining so hard the car was leaking! An emotional church ceremony started the day, then the bridal party headed down to the harbour where a flotilla of boats with friends and family aboard was waiting to escort the Olivia and Tom to the reception at Cliff House. As you’ll see from the images at the start of the day, it was touch and go as to whether the flotilla would go ahead as a storm was forecast but thankfully it blew over just in time – I’m so glad it did as it was such a unique and special part of the day – and big thanks to Olivia’s brother Will for escorting me in my own boat! (it had a special kind of name, this boat, but I forget what it was – sorry to let you down on this one, Salcombe community, I’m an uneducated land-loving kinda person – who is partial to the odd boat ride of course).
After some great speeches, the very popular local band Fake Tan got the party started in style, such a unique and fun band, we can see why they’re so popular!
We hope you enjoy Olivia and Tom’s Cliff House wedding photography as much as we enjoyed being there – what a perfect Devon wedding it was, made even more special by the warmth and happiness of all involved, even those on the outer peripheries such as us, we were made to feel super welcome and looked after – a packed lunch made for us by Olivia’s mum was just the kindest gesture!
Anyway, images, here we go. Enjoy. Thanks for having us along and trusting us with your memories, guys! We’re so glad you love them and we hope to see you again soon!
