FAQ's

Frequently asked Questions!

Whilst I’m always here for your questions, I know I just like to quickly search things up myself before getting in touch, it’s just the way lots of us are built! I’ve tried to answer as many questions below as possible, but if your query isn’t listed here then please feel free to get in touch. I’m super friendly and approachable, and there’s never any obligation. I want your decision to work with me to be as heart-led as possible!

Do you travel?

Absolutely! There is no charge for travel with the UK but if your venue is more than 1.5hrs drive I do ask for accommodation to be covered for 1-2 nights depending on your coverage.

How much extra do you charge for destination weddings?

I charge the same price as I do for UK weddings! I just ask for flights and 2 nights accommodation to be covered depending on our plans and how many events you’d like photographed.

Who is the photographer who will shoot our wedding?

It will always be me. I never subcontract your wedding to anyone else and in the unlikely event I am too unwell, my partner is also a wedding photographer so works in a very similar way to me.

Do you photograph weddings of all cultures, faiths and traditions?

Absolutely. I’ve had the privilege of photographing weddings across many faiths and backgrounds all over the world and I approach each celebration with respect. Before each wedding I will ensure I understand key moments and will consult with you in our pre-wedding meeting.

Do you photograph family groups? We haven’t seen any on your website.

Of course! It’s unusual a couple has no group photographs at all. We discuss these in detail before the day, and how best to approach them with minimum fuss or time away from your guests!

How do you support LGBTQ couples?

I’m proud to be an LGBTQ+ ally, and it’s important to me that every couple feels safe, celebrated and comfortable with me. I want my website and socials to feel inclusive, as all love is welcome here.

How do you describe your style?

At the very base, my style is documentary. I am focused on moments and emotion, but I also enjoy leaning into your ideas, some trends and unique portrait ideas or playing with fun light. I’m quite guided by my couples and the flow of their day but above anything, I never dictate, control or take over and work with my clients to gain the best possible photos with the minimum fuss. I enjoy both humourous/emotional documentary-led moments, and creating beautiful editorial photos. My style sits somewhere in-between, still creating a cohesive set of images and this is great for couples who want both styles, and also great for couples who have a preference for one or the other, and I’ve found this to be the case with a lot of my couples!

How do we secure our date and do you take a deposit?

The deposit is 15% of the total balance which secures your date along with a booking form

When will we see the photos / how long does editing take?

You will receive a preview within 7-10 days. The full edited gallery will be delivered in 4–8 weeks. Accurate turnarounds are given in our pre-wedding meeting. The gallery is password protected, and you can share access with friends and family, it stays online for 2 years.

Are you ok with dogs/horses? We plan to have our pets at our wedding!

I LOVE animals, I have a gorgeous dog myself (and 2 cats!) and I’ve worked with horses many times, I used to ride and I’m very comfortable with all animals. There aren’t enough animals at weddings for me, although as an animal advocate, I do not like animals being used for entertainment unless the very best care for them is demonstrated.

Can we see a full wedding gallery?

Of course, just ask. (I always check first with any couples whose private gallery I will share with you). I’m also happy to share my reviews. In 15+ years of experience photographing weddings I’m proud to say I stay in touch with so many of my couples and often continue the relationship photographing their families!

How many weddings have you photographed, are you comfortable working in bad weather or dark venues?

I’ve photographed over 1000 weddings, all over the world and in all kinds of weather and lighting conditions. I am very experienced and calm, whatever situation is thrown at me, and I always communicate any difficulties as well as running through any potential concerns in our pre-wedding meeting. As experience goes, I am probably the most experienced wedding photographer I know, due to shooting weddings since I was 16 years old!

Can we have a practice shoot?

I highly recommend one! Sometimes, having some photos taken before the day can really help you get a feel of being photographed together, and it’s a good opportunity for us to get to know each other too. I advise getting in touch with me to discuss this further.

Do you need to visit our venue beforehand?

Whilst this is nice when possible, it is not necessary. I have photographed weddings all over the world when it’s not been possible to visit beforehand. If a visit is crucial to understand the venue then of course I will do what I can to ensure I find time to do a recce before the crucial moments!

Can we book a call?

I’d love to chat with you, please get in touch and let me know your preferred method for a chat about your wedding!

Whether you’re looking for wedding photographers in Devon, or elsewhere in the UK, please enjoy looking around my website and don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like to discuss your wedding, or you can find out more about me here!
