We are super excited to share Angela and Keith’s Polhawn Fort wedding photography with you today! As you know, we love nothing more than to shoot a bit of raw emotion and provide our couples with images they will look at and remember exactly how they felt. This beautiful union of beautiful people was full of emotion, so full that even I almost cried… that doesn’t happen very often – I didn’t even cry at our own wedding! We first met Angela, Keith and Harry at a café in Tavistock, we really enjoyed their company and were thrilled when a booking was confirmed for their Polhawn Fort wedding in August.
With emotions running high during preparations and many, many last minute weather checks as the August weather did its usual thing and kept us guessing all morning, it was touch and go as to whether the ceremony would take place outside as planned. Angela had unwavering faith the ceremony would be taking place outdoors and she was right! Minutes before the ceremony the clouds parted and a mad dash to get the chairs outside and ready commenced!
After an emotional and happy ceremony, drinks reception on the lawn and a bridal party trip down to the beach, we headed inside for speeches. Harry had planned to make a speech but when the time came he felt a little daunted. Keith started Harry’s speech for him, but halfway through Harry decided to take over – Oh my goodness what a speech!! As a mum to a young boy, I really related to Angela and Harry’s story and felt quite emotional for Angela – it was quite honestly one of the best speeches of the year. Great work, Harry, we were so impressed that even with all the weddings we’ve photographed this year we still remember clearly and consider your speech a highlight! A hard act to follow for the BNBM’s (ask Keith) but once they brought out that beautiful cardboard cut out, I think they managed to raise just a few smiles…
Angela was also certain we’d have a famous Polhawn Fort sunset – again she was right! Shortly before the first dance we looked outside to see a blazing sky so we ran out to make the most of it before heading back in for the party.
This was truly a special Polhawn Fort wedding and a beautiful day to be part of, to witness and to document. I really enjoyed choosing these images for the blog and i’m super happy to share them with you.
Apologies for my rather clunky words, sometimes my writing doesn’t flow all that well, i’m much better at telling stories with images!
Thanks for having us along, guys, and we hope to catch up with you next time you’re down in the South West.
