A Look Back at Our 2025 Weddings | Devon Wedding Photography round-up

Photographing weddings across the UK in 2025 felt quietly meaningful. This was a year shaped by genuine connection, trust, and couples who value presence over performance. I work in a documentary style with an editorial influence, but my focus remains on storytelling – allowing moments to unfold naturally rather than directing or staging them.

As a Devon wedding photographer, these values always sit at the heart of my work. Each wedding brings its own energy, rhythm, and narrative, and 2025 really eminded me why my calm approach to photography creates space for the most meaningful images.

Iconic Devon Wedding Venues Photographed in 2025

Pynes House Wedding Photography

Pynes House continues to be one of the most elegant wedding venues in Devon. Its grand interiors and soft natural light lend themselves beautifully to editorial wedding photography, while still allowing documentary moments to breathe. Weddings here feel timeless and refined without losing warmth.

Huntsham Court Wedding Photography

Huntsham Court offers freedom and flow — from relaxed mornings through to late night celebrations. For documentary wedding photography in Devon, it allows stories to unfold over an entire weekend, creating layered, emotionally rich narratives.

Mapperton House Wedding Photography

Mapperton House feels cinematic yet grounded. With historic architecture and gardens that change with the seasons, it suits couples drawn to editorial imagery with depth and authenticity. Photographing weddings here always feels quietly special.

Tunnels Beaches Wedding Photography

Tunnels Beaches has been a familiar venue for me over many years and continues to attract couples who are relaxed, outdoors-loving, and drawn to the North Devon coast. Its natural setting and unforced atmosphere suit documentary wedding photography well, allowing days to unfold easily and without fuss. Weddings here feel laid-back, thoughtful, and quietly confident.

Kingston Estate Wedding Photography

Kingston Estate is defined by its elegant house and beautifully kept gardens, offering a setting that feels refined without being formal. The combination of light-filled interiors and expansive outdoor spaces creates a gentle rhythm to the day, allowing moments to unfold naturally across the estate. It’s a venue that feels considered, spacious, and quietly timeless.

An engagement shoot in the Lofoten Islands

In August, we travelled to the Lofoten Islands with Brittany and Dylan for a couples shoot that felt more like an adventure than a photoshoot. Exploring by camper van, we chased the Arctic light through dramatic peaks and quiet fjords, stopping to hike above the coastline and take in the beauty of the landscape. Between shooting, we embraced the full Nordic experience…. warming up in a beach sauna before running into the Arctic sea. It was raw, joyful, and beautifully unfiltered, the kind of trip that blurs the line between documenting a love story and truly living it.

Shooting 35mm Film at Weddings in the Age of AI

In 2025, conversations around AI in wedding photography became increasingly visible. From automated editing to AI generated imagery, the industry is evolving quickly. In response, I leaned even further into shooting 35mm film at weddings.

Film slows the process down. It creates intention and trust. In an era of endless digital images and not knowing what’s real, 35mm film wedding photography offers something tangible, imperfect, and deeply human, something many couples are seeking now.

Travel, Perspective & a Month in New Zealand

February 2025 was spent travelling to New Zealand to spend time with family. New Zealand always offers space for reflection and creative recharge. Travel has always influenced how I see light, story, and connection, and that perspective feeds directly back into my work.

Why 2025 Will Always Stand Out

What defined 2025 most wasn’t just the venues or travel, but the client connections. Couples trusted me completely, invited calm into their day, and allowed their weddings to unfold naturally.

These relationships with my couples are what makes documentary wedding photography so valuable.

Looking Ahead

As trends and technology continue to evolve, my approach remains the same: honest storytelling, documentary sensitivity, and editorial refinement. If you’re looking for a Devon wedding photographer who values connection, presence, and thoughtful imagery, you can explore more about my approach on my homepage. I’m excited for this year, and what it will bring.
