2024 – A summery in pictures (and some words)

Hello 2025!

I haven’t done one of these for a while and have taken a slightly different approach this time.

I chose all of the images in this post from my phone camera roll (mostly from the previews I sent to my couples, and for instagram posts) so this means I haven’t got images from every wedding, I didn’t overthink my choices, I just picked images I really love, then sent them back to my Mac. I knew if I did it any other way, I’d overthink it wildly and I’d spend way too long on it!

So, this isn’t a ‘best of’ post, it’s a celebration of love, of life, and of connection, and how photography is such a valuable tool to tell the stories of our lives.

In a year where it was all about the aesthetic it would have been easily to follow the trends and change my photography style, but to be honest, that doesn’t resonate – I’ve always shot from the heart – so instead of losing the meaningful, joyful, messy and glorious REAL, I’ve just added a few more calm, quiet, stylish moments, with a few more details and a few more portraits for those couples who wanted them. I shoot for my couples and I shoot for the joy, the real, and the connection, because this is what will matter in years to come. The truth is, knowing I’ve captured moments that are going to mean something, this is what drives me, and what has driven me every single year I’ve been here shooting weddings.

I digress. To each and every couple who booked Luna this year – THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart. There are so many talented wedding photographers out there, so when my couples choose me, whether alone or alongside Adam, it means a LOT!

In 2024 we threw a few more films into the mix, and also shot with 35mm film, both things we hope to be bringing more into 2025. Fun fact – the first wedding I ever shot was on film when I was a college student, and that was the wedding that led to the business I have now – pretty incredible hey?

Adam and I tried to shoot together as much as possible in 2024 and we were lucky to shoot together for the majority the year, we will try to work together when possible for 2025 and hope to be shooting more weddings as a photo + film duo. We have also welcomed a wonderful video editor into our team and we really can’t wait to see where she takes our films!

As tempting as it is to write a longer, more meaningful and poignant post, I’m not going to do that today. I tried to create a post that whilst absolutely rammed, also has interesting details, and a nice flow to the scroll!

This a collection of images taken in 2024 to show you a summery of the kind of photos I love to take, whether visually interesting, clean and simple, elegant or chaotic, both the big moments and the little moments. I’ve also thrown in a few fun images from our commercial business!

Personal goals for 2025 are to spend more time in nature, take more personal photos (hello Fuji) to prioritise my health more, make fewer impulse purchases (i.e. take away coffees and fast fashion) to get rid of at least 50% of my wardrobe, to be kinder to myself and less critical, and (this one will be difficult) to try and create a bit more healthy routine both in and out of the office (less like a highly caffeinated raccoon).

Here are some moments we loved from 2024, and I can’t wait to see what 2025 brings!
