Rain on your wedding day? No problem! Rain makes for fun, atmospheric wedding photography. Roni and Steve are such a lovely couple, very relaxed and easy-going about everything. I first met Roni at Darts Farm for a coffee and she struck me as being a very genuine and sweet person and we hit it off immediately, and I looked forward to her wedding to Steve in April.
I used to work in Cornwall a lot when I started out, so its always nice to go back and there is usually dramatic weather so you never know what you’re going to get! For the majority of the day the weather was fine, though shortly after exiting the church the heavens opened! The plans to head down to Watergate bay for bride and groom photos would usually in these circumstances be cancelled by the bride and groom but I loved Roni and Steve’s ‘why not’ attitude, so we headed straight for the beach after the church. Upon arrival there were a few funny looks from surfers and sheltering families but I loved the smiles and hugs we got from Roni and Steve, and I loved that the weather just accepted and embraced! I think a lot of couples worry about a rainy wedding, and its something as a wedding photographer in the UK I am very used to – personally I love all weather conditions helps us create a record thats unique to you, whatever the weather. Shortly after arriving at the reception at the Whipsiderry Hotel – a new venue to me – the sun decided to go out and we managed to get the group photo outside that Roni really wanted. I especially loved the evening shoot we did, so go check it out now!
