One of the most wonderful things about my job is the people I meet, some years ago I photographed the wedding of Libby and Forbes in Scotland and since then I have lost count of the amount of weddings Libby has recommended to me, or have come from seeing her photos – Fliss came across Luna the same way, and we have already had a recommendation from Fliss – it really is the best when such a high percentage of bookings come via recommendation!
Anyway, onto the wedding. The homes of Fliss and her parents are very close, so Russ got ready at home (after a quick game of tennis!) whilst Fliss got ready at the family home before they met at church for a traditional ceremony before heading back to the manor for drinks and canapés.The ceremony went almost as planned, as a power cut meant that the congregation had to sing hymns with no organ or accompanying music, and also no lights! It certainly helped relax Fliss and Russ and there were plenty of smiles as everyone sung their hearts out to the old favourites!
We tend to shoot a lot of weddings at the family home, I imagine it’s pretty special for the family to have the wedding at home, and it certainly helps with the relaxed feel of the day, even we felt at home as we had been there just a few months before to photograph the very exciting and elaborate party Fliss held there for her birthday!
The day went by without a hitch and guests were treated to fireworks and a silent disco. Here is a small selection of images from this luxury marquee wedding at home in Norfolk – we may be Devon wedding photographers but we travel all over the uk, and all over the world – when you are recommended for a wedding that was in Scotland, its a given that you’ll travel to Norfolk, right? Another one of Libby’s recommendations was in Leeds, and another in North Wales! We love a road trip!
